Fleet Operations Manager Opportunity
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the fleet operations. Reporting directly into the Head of Customer Service, you will have three direct reports providing leadership and support to the three pillars you oversee; compliance, event management and cost control.
To be considered for this role you will have previous experience in managing a team in a similar Fleet Management function.
Fleet Operations Manager Duties
- Taking responsibility for all vehicles and legislation, Maintenance and quality control across the fleet
• Engage with OEM and non-OEM networks to ensure that compliance requirements are met fully
• Be fully versed with operator licence compliance requirements and keep up to date with legislative changes
• Work with the Fleet Engineering and Supply Chain teams to provide input and support with the management of the maintenance partners.
• Engage with OEM’s to ensure we and our customers achieve the maximum benefit of utilizing the associated brands and networks.
• Engage with whole repair network to ensure our uptime is maximized and downtime is minimalized.
• Negotiate maintenance and damage costs resulting in best price to serve being achieved.
• Investigate, report, and follow up on maintenance failings.
Fleet Operations Manager Required experience
- Strong track record in fleet management / fleet services / contract hire operations
• Posses excellent knowledge of transport legislation - Knowledge of cost control / breakdown.
- Experience of running a national general haulage fleet
- Experience of the HGV sector ideally UK wide network experience
- Cost control / breakdown knowledge
- Experience of running a national general haulage fleet
• A proven team leader and can demonstrate a record of successfully managing and supporting a busy team within a fleet operation
• Organised and attentive to detail with practical problem-solving skills
• If you possess a National/International CPC in Road Transport operations this would be beneficial
