Position: Chief Engineer
Salary: £92,700 – £97,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Overtime: Available & Optional
Location: Barking

We are currently looking for a Chief Engineer to join our client’s dedicated Engineering team in their commitment to delivering exceptional service standards and maintaining operational excellence across their fleet.

Chief Engineer Required Qualifications:

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs (or equivalent)
Car Driving Licence
Proven leadership experience within a senior engineering role
Strong knowledge of compliance and safety regulations within the transport industry

Chief Engineer Main Duties:

Overall responsibility for the engineering function, ensuring operational efficiency and safety
Leading maintenance programmes to ensure all vehicles meet and exceed DVSA standards
Driving continuous improvement in vehicle reliability, availability, and performance
Championing Health & Safety, compliance, and staff wellbeing across the department
Working closely with the senior management team to deliver strategic objectives within budgetary requirements
Mentoring and developing the engineering team to achieve professional growth and high performance
