Job Overview:
My client is seeking a skilled Machine Control Fitter to join their team in Derby. As a Machine Control Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machine control systems on various types of construction and surveying machinery.

Key Responsibilities of a Machine Control Fitter:

Install, calibrate, and configure machine control systems on construction and surveying equipment.
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on machine control systems to ensure optimal functionality.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide technical support and ensure smooth system operation.
Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates to equipment as required.
Ensure all installations and repairs are completed in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Keep detailed records of all work conducted and provide clear reports on system performance and issues.

Requirements of a Machine Control Fitter:

Have prior experience as a plant mechanic or HGV mechanic or machine control fittting.
Must be able to work well within a team environment and integrate fully into the ethos and ethics of the team
The ability to perform all duties in a positive and professional manner and uphold PQS Value’s
A knowledge or survey/construction instruments is preferable but not essential
Working knowledge of hydraulic control systems and electrical systems including CAN bus on mechanical systems advantageous, but not essential
Welding, fabrication, and engineering abilities advantageous
Be an inquisitive learner with the ability to follow detailed technical user guides
Ability to understand technical or mechanical issues related to construction machinery
Enjoy working outdoors
Possess a strong work ethic and eye for detail
Be happy to travel and enjoy flexible working days
Have the resilience to be able to deal with a demanding construction environment
Full clean driving license
CPCS, CSCS card advantageous.
