Are you an experienced engineer looking to take the lead in a hands-on role with real impact? We’re looking for a skilled Fleet Engineer to join our team at a well-established bus and coach company based in Ardrossan.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take responsibility for the maintenance and reliability of a busy commercial fleet — all while enjoying a Monday to Friday day shift and a competitive salary of £50,000.
About the Role:
As Fleet Engineer, you’ll oversee the upkeep, safety, and legal compliance of a fleet of PSV’s working closely with workshop staff, drivers, and management. You’ll coordinate scheduled maintenance, tackle repairs, and ensure that our vehicles are safe, reliable, and road-ready every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee routine servicing, inspections, and repairs across the fleet
- Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations and safety standards
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out or supervise repairs
- Manage workshop resources, stock levels, and parts ordering
- Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation
- Support the operational team in delivering reliable, on-time services
What We’re Looking For:
- Time-served engineer with experience in HGV, PCV, PSV or commercial vehicle maintenance
- Recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of DVSA and vehicle compliance regulations
- Hands-on approach with excellent diagnostic and repair skills
- Organised, proactive, and confident working both independently and in a team
- PCV licence (desirable but not essential)
