Customer Hire Desk Administrator
Location: Preston
Salary: Up to £27,500 per annum
Type: Temporary (with potential to go permanent)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am–5pm
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Customer Hire Desk Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced team based in Preston. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent, offering a competitive salary and the chance to work within a well-established business in the hire industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a high volume of inbound calls from customers and suppliers regarding hire enquiries, service requests, and general queries
- Responding promptly to incoming emails, ensuring accurate and timely communication
- Logging and processing on-hire and off-hire requests using internal systems
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date hire records and customer databases
- Producing reports and inputting data accurately into internal systems
- Checking that actions have been completed and following up where required
- Assisting the manager with KPI reporting and other administration as needed
- Managing day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling, document handling, and data entry
- Liaising with internal departments to coordinate deliveries, collections, and service requirements
- Assisting with resolving customer issues in a professional and efficient manner
- Ensuring all documentation and processes are completed to a high standard
- Supporting the team in maintaining an organised and responsive hire desk function
About You:
- Previous experience in a hire desk, plant hire, or equipment rental environment is desirable
- Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident handling high call volumes and managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Proficient in data entry, reporting, and using internal systems
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
- Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player
