HGV Technician (Nights) – Widnes

Pay: £24.47 per hour + Bonus = £26.10 per hour equivalent
Salary: £59,000+ per year
Hours: Tuesday to Friday, Nights (6:00pm – 6:00am)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Earning Potential (OTE)
Basic Salary: £59,000+ per year
Realistic OTE: Up to £64,000+ per year with available overtime

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Widnes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to take on a permanent night shift role, working Tuesday through Friday, with top-tier pay, a structured bonus scheme, and a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a night shift HGV Technician, you will carry out routine servicing, inspections, and general maintenance of HGVs.
Perform fault diagnosis and repairs to DVSA standards using modern diagnostic equipment as part of your role as a professional HGV Technician.
Prepare and present vehicles for MOT testing and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate paperwork and job cards, and support workshop colleagues to uphold high standards of workmanship and safety.

What You’ll Need

Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI) or equivalent.
or
Level 2 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance + IRTEC
Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic in a commercial workshop.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills essential for a competent HGV Technician.
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence is desirable).
Flexibility and commitment to working night shifts.

What’s On Offer

£24.47 per hour + Bonus = £26.10 per hour equivalent for a qualified HGV Technician
Annual salary of £59,000+ with realistic OTE up to £64,000+
Tuesday to Friday night shift – 4 nights on, 3 nights off
Technician Grade Bonus scheme
258 hours annual leave including bank holidays
Ongoing manufacturer and in-house training for a progressing HGV Technician
Company pension scheme
