Assistant Depot Manager – Lifting Equipment Industry
Location: Avonmouth
Salary: Up to £35,000 basic
Hours: Monday to Friday
An established and growing business within the lifting equipment and safety sector is currently seeking an Assistant Depot Manager to join their busy Avonmouth depot. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and offers long-term career progression within a stable and well-respected organisation.
This is a hands-on, varied role where you will play a key part in the day-to-day success of the depot. Working closely with the Depot Manager, you will help ensure operations run smoothly, customer expectations are exceeded, and the team remains motivated and aligned with company standards.
The Role:
- Supporting the Depot Manager with the daily running of the depot and stepping in when required
- Managing administrative tasks including hire and sales contracts, order processing and documentation
- Overseeing picking, packing and preparation of lifting equipment for customer orders
- Proactively resolving operational issues to maintain efficiency and service levels
- Leading by example to ensure company policies, procedures and health & safety standards are followed
- Supporting, motivating and developing depot staff to achieve operational and commercial goals
- Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
The Ideal Candidate:
- A proactive and organised individual with a hands-on approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Sound judgement and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced depot environment
- Previous experience within lifting equipment, tool hire, engineering, logistics or a similar operational role would be highly advantageous
