HGV Technician
Manchester
£54,700 basic + annual bonus (circa £3,000)
Monday–Thursday | 6pm–6am (4-day working week)
Overtime paid at enhanced rates

The Role as an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-established and respected fleet maintenance company. You’ll be working on specialist assets within a professional workshop environment, with full support and training provided to help you develop your skills further.
- Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on HGVs for both internal and external customers
- Preparing vehicles for MOT, including inspection, rectification, and final presentation
- Attending breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs to a high standard
- Completing all compliance documentation in line with DVSA and company standards
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and workmanship at all times
What we’re looking for in the HGV Technician / Mechanic / Engineer
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer
- NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent HGV qualification
- Experience with repairs and wheel alignment
- Municipal or RCV/refuse vehicle experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong understanding of the HGV industry and safety practices
- A team player who can also work confidently on their own initiative
