Parts Supervisor – Commercial Vehicles
Salary: £36,832 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, including Saturday mornings on a rota basis (1 in 3 or 1 in 4)
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Basic Salary: £36,832 per year.
- Realistic OTE: Details of overtime rates and bonus structure to be confirmed at interview.
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Parts Supervisor to lead a team within a commercial vehicle operation. You’ll oversee a department consisting of two Parts Advisors, two Parts Delivery Drivers, and an Apprentice. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you’ll be responsible for motivating staff, maximising profitability, and ensuring excellent customer service. You’ll also drive online sales via eBay and maintain high stock standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, control, and motivate the parts department team to achieve growth and retention.
- Ensure all customers are served in a professional and efficient manner to build loyalty.
- Maximise profitability in line with parts budget and achieve monthly sales targets.
- Expand online sales via eBay to maximise profit and customer service.
- Maintain stock levels to a high standard through perpetual stock checking (3 full checks per year).
- Ensure security of all company property and maintain a tidy, organised workspace.
- Train and develop staff, completing appraisals and identifying training needs.
- Manage and coordinate parts delivery drivers effectively.
- Ensure cash invoices are cleared daily and Service 24hr vans are stock checked.
- Promote manufacturer parts and stimulate business through workshop outlets.
- Ensure phones are answered within 3 rings with the correct company greeting.
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience supervising a parts department, preferably within commercial vehicles.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities with staff, customers, and suppliers.
- A proactive approach to driving sales and achieving targets.
- Knowledge of stock control, eBay sales, and parts department operations.
