About the Company
A large, nationwide tool, plant, and powered access hire business is currently looking to recruit a Hire Controller to join their busy depot team in Essex. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company with a strong reputation in the hire industry and a supportive working environment.
The Role
As a Hire Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of hire equipment and providing excellent customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

Handling hire enquiries via telephone, email, and online ordering systems
Checking equipment availability and ensuring machine statuses are kept up to date on internal systems
Coordinating with engineering and transport teams to ensure equipment is prepared and delivered to customer sites on time
Maintaining accurate records and updating hire systems
Acting as a professional and helpful point of contact for customer and depot enquiries

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience within plant hire, powered access, tool hire, or material handling industries
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and hire management systems
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hire environment
