Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer – Neath, Wales

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 16:00 | Friday, 07:00 – 12:00 (4.5-day week)
Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

  • Hourly Rate: £15.52 – £16.05 per hour
  • Basic Salary: £31,474 – £32,549 per year
  • Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x)
  • Realistic OTE: £34,000 – £36,500+ per year with overtime

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer to join a well-established bodybuilding manufacturing facility in Neath, Wales. This role offers a condensed 4.5-day working week, giving you every Friday afternoon off. You’ll be responsible for installing electrical wiring harnesses, lighting, and ancillary equipment to specification, working on bespoke commercial vehicle builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and fit electrical wiring harnesses and lighting to commercial vehicles
  • Carry out marker lamp installations in line with Type Approval legislation
  • Fit electrical and ancillary equipment to specification
  • Work from job sheets and ensure jobs are completed efficiently
  • Support with apprentice training where required

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in electrical installations within commercial vehicles
  • Good mechanical understanding alongside electrical work
  • Experience working on bespoke vehicle builds
  • Ability to read and interpret job specs and instructions
  • Ideally a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar
