The Opportunity We’re working with a large, well-established plant hire organisation based in Maidstone who are looking to bring an experienced Senior Transport Planner into their busy and fast-paced operations team.

The Role As a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of transport operations. You will be responsible for planning efficient routes, coordinating fleet movements, and supporting drivers to ensure all deliveries are completed safely, legally, and on time.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and allocate routes for a fleet operating across Kent and surrounding areas
Coordinate daily vehicle movements to maximise efficiency and minimise delays
Ensure drivers are fully briefed with job packs, delivery details, and paperwork
Manage and support drivers, including workload planning and performance
Maintain compliance with UK transport legislation and Working Time Directive
Monitor transport performance and resolve any operational issues or delays
Contribute to continuous improvement within the transport function

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a Senior Transport Planner role (plant hire, construction, or logistics background is essential)
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Confident communicator with the ability to manage and support drivers effectively
Good understanding of UK transport compliance and regulations
Transport Manager CPC (desirable but not essential)
