The Company
Our client is a leading nationwide hire company, specialising in plant, powered access, and tool hire. Due to growth, they are seeking a qualified and experienced Workshop Engineer to join their busy fitter team.
The Role – Workshop Engineer
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of hire equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine maintenance of diesel engines on equipment such as pumps, generators, excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers
- Diagnosing and repairing faults to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose
- Carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance
- Completing accurate job records and reports
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Workshop Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and plant machinery
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
