PSV Mechanic
Location: Merseyside
Rate: £19.98 Per Hour
Shift: Monday to Friday (Days)

Buses don’t maintain themselves, that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an experienced Day Shift Fitter to join our engineering team, playing a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service. Every inspection you complete and every repair you carry out helps ensure passengers reach their destinations safely and on time.

The Role

As part of the day shift team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards across the fleet and keeping vehicles operating at peak performance:

Carrying out routine servicing, safety inspections, and MOT preparation
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Replacing and repairing key components, including engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and electrical systems
Accurately completing job cards and maintenance records
Working collaboratively to reduce vehicle downtime and improve availability
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
Keeping up to date with new technologies through ongoing training

About You

You’ll be a hands-on engineer with strong technical ability and a proactive approach:

NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Proven experience as a fitter or technician (bus or coach experience desirable)
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Comfortable using a range of tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic systems
Full UK driving licence (PCV licence would be advantageous)
A team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
A strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail
