Location: Preston

Shift: Monday to Friday
Hours: 39
Pay: £45,000 

My client, a respected name in the UK bus and coach sector, is looking for a forward-thinking Assistant Engineering Manager to lead their Preston Depot.

What you’ll be doing in your new Assistant Engineering Manager role:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of a HGV workshop
  • Supporting and developing technicians through structured coaching
  • Ensuring high service standards, productivity and efficiency
  • Collaborating with the wider service and aftersales team
  • Monitoring KPIs and maintaining quality, health & safety, and compliance

The successful Assistant Engineering Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in a Workshop Manager or senior supervisory role
  • A recognised technical qualification and hands-on background
  • HGV or PSV Mechanical Experience
  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver against targets
  • An understanding of financial performance within workshop operations
