Location: Heathrow
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off Days

About Your New Company:
My client, a market leading company who have been in business for over 35 years, are looking for a Duty Manager to join their team in Heathrow.
Main Purpose Of The Role:
Responsible for overseeing workshop operations, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with service schedules and contractual targets. Manage daily resources, workload planning, productivity, compliance, and customer service standards. Lead and support the team through performance management, training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Of The Duty Manager:
- Manage day-to-day workshop operations
- Ensure fleet vehicles are serviced, repaired, and available to required standards
- Prioritise workload to meet operational demands and service level agreements
- Lead teams to achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets
- Maintain accurate work orders, records, and compliance documentation
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
- Investigate incidents, carry out audits, and promote a strong safety culture
- Manage staffing, attendance, performance, and development reviews
- Control costs, reduce third-party dependency, and improve efficiency
- Deputise for the Operations Manager when required
Skills & Experience Required For The Duty Manager Role:
- Previous management or supervisory experience in workshop, fleet, or transport operations
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Good mechanical knowledge or background
- Knowledge of workshop systems, SAP, or similar systems desirable
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
Desirable Qualifications:
- Motor mechanics – LGV & heavy vehicles
- IOSH/NEBOSH
- CPC
- PSV license
