Shift: Monday – Friday / 8am to 4:30pm
Location: Covering Cambridgeshire
Salary: Up to £34,500
Overtime available Company Van + Fuel Card Provided
Tail Lift Engineer Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced Tail Lift Engineer to join a growing service team in a field-based remote role, working directly on customer sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys independent working, problem-solving, and hands-on maintenance in the field.
About the Tail Lift Engineer Role:
You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, maintaining, and providing breakdown support for tail lift equipment and associated systems, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities of the Tail Lift Engineer:
- Service, maintain and repair:
- Tail lifts
- Double deck systems
- VBG equipment
- Shutter doors
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electro-mechanical faults
- Manage van stock efficiently to maximise service delivery
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks
- Liaise with the service centre regarding:
- Job progress
- Downtime / overtime approvals
- Cost updates
- Purchase orders
- Complete paperwork and PDA updates accurately
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Maintain professional presentation of van, tools, and equipment
- Identify additional business opportunities with customers
- Attend training and development programmes
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and ISO standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Tail Lift Engineer or Commercial Vehicle Engineer
- Strong hydraulic fault-finding and repair skills
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems
- Full clean driving licence
- Ability to work independently and professionally
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- IT literate (Microsoft Office / handheld devices)
- Physically fit and comfortable working on customer sites
Additional Requirements:
- Extensive travel to customer locations
- Participation in on-call rota
- Overtime, nights, and weekend work may be required (enhanced pay available)
