HGV Driver – Preston

Pay: £15.86 per hour
OTE: £37,500 – £39,600+ per year
Hours: Monday – Friday (40 or 42.5 hours per week – to be confirmed)

• Option 1: 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours)
• Option 2: 08:00 – 17:00 (42.5 hours)
  Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

• Hourly Rate: £15.86 per hour
• Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x) – £23.79 per hour
• Basic Salary: £32,989 – £35,051 per year
• Realistic OTE: £37,500 – £39,600+ per year (with regular overtime)

Overview
We’re looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team in Preston. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing deliveries, collecting and presenting vehicles for MOT (typically 2 per day), and liaising with customers. You’ll also assist with general housekeeping and workshop maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Take direction from Branch Manager, Workshop, Parts, and Sales teams
• Collect and deliver customer vehicles in an efficient and courteous manner
• Present vehicles for MOT (typically 2 per day)
• Clean, valet, and prepare vehicles to a high standard
• Maintain vehicle line up for display standards
• Assist with general housekeeping and workshop maintenance

What You’ll Need

• Class 1 HGV licence is essential
• CPC and Tacho card are preferred but not essential
• ADR qualification is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in a similar driving role
• Good attention to detail and excellent customer focus
• ‘Can do’ attitude – able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
