Crane & Lifting Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Hours: Mon to Fri 7am to 4pm
Salary: £47,000 – £58,000 basic
OTE: £62,000+
Location: North West & Midlands (UK-wide travel required)
Van & fuel card + tools provided
On-call rota included

About your new company
Our client is a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in crane and lifting equipment services. Due to continued success and expansion, they are looking to recruit an electrically biased Crane & Lifting Engineer to support operations across the Northwest and Midlands, with occasional travel across the UK. The company is focused on growth and expanding expertise within the container lifting and wider lifting industries.
About your new Crane & Lifting Engineer role
As a Crane & Lifting Engineer, you will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and repair a wide range of lifting equipment across customer sites.
- Carry out servicing, inspections, and LOLER Thorough Examinations
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out repairs
- Perform breakdown response and defect repairs following inspections
- Maintain high standards of safety, maintenance, and compliance
- Work on a wide range of equipment including:
- RMG, RTG, crawler and mobile cranes
- Container straddle carriers, reach stackers, empty handlers
- Forklift trucks (1–36 ton)
- Boatyard hoists (Perkins, Volvo, Cummins engines)
- Terminal tractors, gritters, and sweepers
What you’ll need to succeed as a Crane & Lifting Engineer
- Basic electrical qualifications (essential)
- City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in electrical engineering (preferred)
- Previous experience with cranes or heavy plant equipment (preferred but not essential)
- Willingness to learn both electrical and mechanical aspects of the role
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
