Job Title: Mobile HGV Technician
Location: Sheffield
Shift: Monday to Friday (Days)
Salary: £45,000 – £52,500 + Overtime (1.5x) + Company Van + Fuel Card
OTE: £60,000+

Salary Structure

Non-IRTEC Qualified: £18.00 p/h (£44,928) ? £18.90 p/h (£47,174) after probation
IRTEC Qualified: £18.90 p/h (£47,174) ? £21.00 p/h (£52,416) after probation

Full IRTEC qualification support is provided after successful probation, making this an excellent opportunity for a Mobile HGV Technician looking to progress and increase earning potential.

The Role – Mobile HGV Technician

As a Mobile HGV Technician, you will be working across customer sites, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services on a wide range of commercial vehicles. You will play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on commercial vehicles
Diagnose faults using technical knowledge and diagnostic equipment
Perform visual and operational checks to identify defects
Complete detailed inspections and accurate reporting on damaged vehicles
Work effectively on-site, both with and without workshop facilities
Participate in an on-call rota (approx. 1 in 6–7 weeks)

What We’re Looking For

Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IRTEC)
Proven experience working on HGVs
Previous experience as a Mobile HGV Technician is advantageous
Experience with GSE equipment is beneficial
Full UK driving licence
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

From day one, you’ll be supported with structured onboarding, including:

2 weeks in a professional training environment
1 week shadowing an experienced Mobile HGV Technician
Ongoing development and IRTEC qualification support
