Mechanical Fitter – Biggleswade
Pay: £35,000-£40,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a new team in Biggleswade. This is a hands-on role working within a busy workshop and yard environment, responsible for preparing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing non-mechanical plant and site equipment to ensure all assets are safe and ready for hire or operational use.
Key Responsibilities

• Inspecting, cleaning, and preparing non mechanical equipment for hire
• Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance on non-mechanical plant equipment
• Completing pre-hire and post-hire inspections
• Identifying damaged or unsafe equipment and reporting defects
• Maintaining workshop and yard cleanliness and organisation
• Assisting with loading and unloading equipment when required
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
• Supporting operational and logistics teams to meet deadlines

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
• Experience using hand tools
• Own transportation or reliable means to travel to site.
