PWC / Refrigeration Engineer (Site-Based) – Trafford Park, Manchester

Hours: 44 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:30, Friday 07:00-15:30
Full time, permanent

Earning Potential – Salary:
£21.00 per hour basic
Overtime paid at 1.5x (£31.50 per hour)
Realistic OTE including 3 hours overtime per week: £49,000 – £51,500

Overview
We’re looking for a Refrigeration Engineer to join an award-winning, industry-respected team in Trafford Park. You’ll be site-based, servicing and repairing PWC units, HVAC systems (GAH), and Thermo King / Carrier refrigeration kit. This employer invests properly in their people – ongoing training, clear progression, and a team with genuine long service. No chasing vans. No overnight stays. Just good, steady work on modern equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair PWC units and GAH HVAC systems
  • Diagnose and repair Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration systems
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Perform F-Gas compliant work to current regulations
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Work independently on-site and follow health & safety standards

What You’ll Need

  • F-Gas Certification (essential)
  • Experience in PWC, refrigeration, or HVAC engineering – or genuine willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of GAH, Thermo King, or Carrier systems – or be open to training
  • Strong fault-finding skills – electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration
  • Ability to work solo and use your own initiative
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
  • You’ll be a great fit if you’re practical, solution-focused, and want a stable site-based role with a multi-accredited, high-retention employer.
