Hours: 40 hours per week (rostered between 07:00 – 17:00)
Plus one in three Saturday mornings (08:00 – 13:00) – paid at overtime rate
Full time, permanent
Earning Potential – Salary:
Starting from £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Saturdays paid at 1.5x overtime rate
Overview
We’re looking for a Trainee Service Advisor to join an award-winning commercial vehicle specialist in Swansea. This is a development role – you’ll be learning the ropes alongside a Senior Service Advisor, working towards manufacturer certification, and building a proper career. Key Responsibilities
- Informing customers of their ongoing vehicle status throughout the repair process
- Efficiently and politely dealing with inbound and outbound phone calls
- Assisting the Service Advisor with daily duties
- Actively learning the full Service Advisor role, including:
- Raising job cards and writing orders for repairs
- Entering additions and changes to the customer database
- Handing over finished vehicles with detailed explanations of repairs
- Monitoring whether repairs are being carried out to delivery time
- Actively selling after-sales services, including Service Contracts
- Discussing and arranging payment with customers
- Booking in vehicles to ensure continuity of workshop loading
- Providing advice on warranties and service requirements
- Explaining vehicle test requirements for legally required inspections
- Arranging schedules for MOT and vehicle inspections
- Completion of manufacturer Service Certification
What You’ll Need
- Motor vehicle industry experience (essential) – workshop, service, or admin background considered
- A genuine desire to develop into a Service Advisor role
- Strong communication skills – professional and reassuring on the phone and face-to-face
- A proactive, keen-to-learn attitude
- Basic IT and computer literacy
