Workshop Forklift engineer – Walsall

Job Title: Workshop Forklift Engineer
Location: Walsall (West Midlands)  
Salary: £37,000 – £40,150
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40hrs

An established and growing independent forklift truck business is seeking an additional Workshop Engineer to join its Walsall based team.
Following a period of sustained growth and continued investment since 2016, the business is expanding its engineering team to support increasing demand and maintain high service standards.
Your new company specialises in the sale, hire, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of forklift trucks across the West Midlands area.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Service, maintenance and repair a variety of forklift trucks
• Carry out fault diagnosis
• Undertake mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
• Refurbish hire and sales fleet trucks to a high standard
• Complete major repairs that cannot be carried out in the field
• Conduct LOLER inspections in line with current regulations
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to high quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

What you’ll need:

• Experience as a Forklift engineer / Material handling mechanic / Plant Fitter preferred
• Proven experience of diesel engines
• Strong experience with electrics and hydraulics

Your Package:

• Basic salary: £37,000-£40,150
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
• Company pension scheme

• 2 week Christmas shutdown
