The Role as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer

We are a well-established independent commercial vehicle workshop based in Poole and are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician seeking a varied role within a friendly, supportive business where quality workmanship and customer service are highly valued.
You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of commercial vehicles including HGVs, PSVs and Class 7 vans.
Key duties as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer

• Carrying out vehicle inspections on HGVs, PSVs and Class 7 vehicles.
• Completing MOT preparation work and presenting vehicles for DVSA testing.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Undertaking HGV repairs ranging from lighting and electrical issues through to major mechanical work, including clutch replacements.
• Performing PSV repairs, including lighting, suspension and air system repairs.
• Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carrying out day-to-day running repairs to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and roadworthy.

What we’re looking for in the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer

• Experience working on HGVs, PSVs and/or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with MOT preparation and vehicle inspections.
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
