Auto Electrician

Location: Blantyre
Position: Auto Electrician 
Hours: 37 hours per week (Full-time, Permanent)
Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, 6:00am – 2:00pm
Pay: £20.50 per hour plus enhanced weekend rates
Bonus: £2,000 Joining Bonus 

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has become available for a qualified Automotive Electrician to join the engineering team at a busy bus depot in Blantyre. This role is ideal for experienced vehicle electricians, HGV or PSV technicians, or engineers from transferable industries who are looking to develop their careers within a modern and well-equipped engineering environment.Comprehensive training, ongoing technical development, and genuine career progression opportunities are available, making this an excellent move for candidates looking to build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on buses and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out electrical servicing, repairs, and component replacement.
• Identify the correct repair methods and required replacement parts.
• Conduct vehicle road tests where required to confirm faults or verify completed repairs.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety legislation.
• Follow company procedures and engineering standards at all times.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through ongoing training.

Candidate Requirements Successful applicants will ideally have:

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience working as an Automotive Electrician or in a similar electrically biased engineering role.
• PSV or HGV experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Applications are welcomed from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship and engineers from other industries with relevant electrical skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A PCV licence is desirable; however, candidates must be willing to obtain one with support provided.
