About the Role
Kemp Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading equipment hire company for an experienced Small Tool Fitter to join their team in Milton Keynes.
You’ll be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of a wide range of small tools, 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, and light plant equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop their career within a well-established hire business.
Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain small tools and light plant machinery
• Diagnose and repair faults on 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
• Carry out mechanical repairs and component replacements
• Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe and ready for hire
• Complete preventative maintenance and servicing
• Ensure all equipment meets company safety and compliance standards
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and servicing
• Work efficiently to minimise equipment downtime
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Small Tool Fitter, Tool Fitter, Plant Fitter, Workshop Fitter or Maintenance Technician
• Good mechanical knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
• Experience working with small tools and light plant machinery
• The ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults
• A self-motivated and reliable approach to work
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Experience within the Plant Hire, Tool Hire or Equipment Hire industry would be advantageous
