Mobile Plant Fitter
Kemp Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced Mobile Plant Fitters to join a leading plant hire and equipment company, with multiple positions available across London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer or Heavy Plant Engineer looking for a mobile position offering a strong basic salary, overtime opportunities and a company van.
You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and construction equipment across customer sites throughout your designated area.
The Role
As a Mobile Plant Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Servicing and maintaining heavy plant and construction equipment
  • Working on excavators, diggers, dumpers, telehandlers and associated plant machinery
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs and attending customer sites
  • Completing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Carrying out safety inspections
  • Repairing and replacing faulty components
  • Ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and ready for use
  • Accurately completing service and repair documentation
  • Providing a professional service to customers on-site

About You
The successful Mobile Plant Fitter will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer or similar
  • Experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant equipment
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
  • Electrical diagnostic experience would be advantageous
  • An NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential
  • A CSCS card would be beneficial but is not essential
  • A full UK driving licence
