The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Auto Electrician to join a well-established and growing business in Leeds. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with experience working on HGVs, trailers, or tankers, carrying out electrical diagnostics, repairs, and installations to the highest safety and compliance standards.

Working within a professional workshop, you’ll play a key role in ensuring commercial vehicles, trailers, and tankers remain roadworthy, compliant, and operating at peak performance.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Auto Electrician
 

• Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on tanker and trailer electrical systems.
• Repair and install 24V lighting systems, wiring looms, cameras, and electrical components.
• Maintain and repair tanker systems, including pumps, pneumatic controls, and safety equipment.
• Complete maintenance and repair work in line with company and DVSA safety standards.
• Accurately complete workshop paperwork and job records.
• Assist with breakdowns and urgent repair work when required.
• Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

The Ideal Candidate
 

• Previous experience working on 24V HGV, trailer, or tanker electrical systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with wiring repairs, lighting systems, and electrical installations.
• Able to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player.
• Competent using basic IT systems to complete workshop documentation.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable.
