Role: Area Sales Manager
Location: Bristol & the surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 + Company Car + Uncapped Commission + Bonus
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

My client, a specialist provider of industrial door and loading bay systems, providing customers with reliable solutions across new equipment, service and maintenance, is looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager due to continued growth, to develop new business across Bristol and the surrounding areas, covering approximately a one-hour radius. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a background in industrial doors, loading bays, access solutions, technical sales, construction or engineering who is looking to take ownership of their own territory and develop a long-term career within a growing business.

The role will initially focus heavily on new business development, identifying and converting opportunities for both new equipment sales and service & maintenance contracts. As the business continues to grow and establishes additional depots, there will be a clear progression opportunity for the Area Sales Manager to take on responsibility for new territories and develop into a wider Sales Management position.

As the Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities across Bristol and surrounding areas
Targeting industrial and commercial customers with requirements for new equipment, servicing and maintenance
Utilising a substantial existing database of potential customers and leads to identify new opportunities
Making proactive contact with prospective customers and developing relationships with key decision-makers
Building and managing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
Developing long-term relationships with new and existing customers
Conducting customer meetings and site visits where required
Identifying opportunities to cross-sell service, maintenance and new equipment solutions

Service & Maintenance Sales
Developing new service and maintenance contract opportunities
Identifying customers with existing industrial door and loading bay equipment
Promoting proactive maintenance agreements to reduce breakdowns and downtime
Building recurring revenue through long-term service relationships
Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract agreement

New Equipment Sales
Developing opportunities for new industrial door and loading bay equipment
Promoting suitable solutions based on individual customer requirements
Working with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and services
Liaising with internal teams to ensure projects are accurately scoped and delivered

CRM & Lead Generation
Managing opportunities through the company CRM
Working through a substantial existing database of potential customers and leads
The business currently operates on Dynamics 365 and is moving across to Salesforce
Access to wider group company data will provide a significant volume of potential leads and new business opportunities
Maintaining accurate records of customer activity, opportunities and pipeline progression
Proactively following up enquiries and maximising conversion opportunities

The successful Area Sales Manager will have the following experience
Proven experience in new business sales or business development
Ideally experience within industrial doors, loading bays, access solutions, construction, engineering or another technical environment
Strong ability to generate new business and develop customer relationships
Confident communicating with customers and decision-makers
Commercially focused with a strong understanding of the sales process
Comfortable working independently and managing your own territory
Strong follow-up and pipeline management skills
Good technical aptitude and the ability to understand customer requirements
Full UK driving licence

The Area Sales Manager will receive an excellent remuneration package which includes
£40,000 basic salary
Company car
Uncapped commission
Additional bonus opportunity’s both annually and quarterly
