Job Title: Workshop Plant Fitter
Hours: Monday–Friday
Salary: up to £20 per hour 
Overtime: Available at enhanced rates
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established heavy machinery company is looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join their busy workshop team. This role offers stable weekday hours and the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy plant equipment in a supportive, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a fleet of heavy plant machinery including diggers, dumpers and excavators, dozers, screeners, crushers
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
• Complete service reports, job cards and all relevant paperwork accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out to industry and health & safety standards.
• Work both independently and as part of a wider workshop team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Plant Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics and diesel engines.
• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (or time-served equivalent).
• Ability to diagnose faults quickly and efficiently.
• Full UK driving license.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
