Location: Reading
Salary: £31,000 + £4,000 bonus
Hours: Mon–Fri 8am–5pm (30-min unpaid lunch) + 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am–12pm

Our client, a busy commercial vehicle service centre, is looking for an HGV Service Planner and Administrator to join their team.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role at the heart of the service department. You’ll be the main point of contact for customers booking routine maintenance, servicing, MOTs and defect work, while keeping everyone updated on progress so expectations are met and exceeded.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking bookings and filling workshop capacity through inbound and outbound calls
• Creating accurate job cards and repair orders from customer or internal instructions
• Ordering parts and sub-contract work
• Scanning job cards, maintaining service records and handling general admin/filing
• Flagging delays, seeking authority for extra work, and promoting additional services
• Supporting the wider team and helping hit branch targets

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving skills and the confidence to work on your own initiative as well as in a team
• Ideally previous experience in automotive (HGV or light commercial vehicles) – technical knowledge is a plus
