Location: Pontefract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £19.00 per hour -overtime paid at x 1.5 and readily available
Must have Class 1 License

Job Overview for the Trailer Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Trailer Technician to join our busy workshop team. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday with no weekend work required. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of commercial trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with DVSA regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Trailer Technician

Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGV trailers.
Perform safety inspections and prepare trailers for MOT testing.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, braking, suspension, and electrical faults.
Complete preventative maintenance and defect rectification.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate job cards and service records.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet workshop deadlines.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Requirements of the Trailer Technician

Previous experience as an HGV Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, or similar role.
Good knowledge of trailer braking systems, suspension, lighting, and running gear.
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Full UK Driving Licence.
