Hours: Monday – Thursday, 06:00 – 16:30
Full time, permanent

Earning Potential – Salary:
£41,787 – £48,838 per annum basic (dependent on experience)
OTE: £48,000 – £55,000 (including productive overtime at 1.5x)
Any productive overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate

Overview
We’re looking for a Technician Supervisor to join the Service Department at a well-established commercial vehicle specialist in Widnes. This is a split role – roughly 70% hands-on and 30% supervisory – leading a small team of up to 3 technicians. If you’re Level 3 qualified with supervisory experience and want to stay on the tools while stepping up, this is the one.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and delegating work to a small team of up to 3 technicians
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on HGVs – roughly 70% hands-on
• Assisting with on-the-job training and development of staff and apprentices
• Liaising with other supervisors and communicating with customers as required
• Ensuring maximum utilisation and efficiency of available hours
• Ensuring job card write-ups are completed to standard
• Carrying out final appraisals of work/repair orders – ensuring correct detail and authorised signatures
• Providing technical advice and guidance to the technician team
• Carrying out quality checks in line with company procedures
• Identifying training needs for staff with the Workshop Controller

What You’ll Need

• City & Guilds or equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle (essential)
• Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles (essential)
• Previous supervisory experience (essential)
• Organised and methodical approach to problem solving – attention to detail
• Undertaken manufacturer training courses – maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data
• Full UK driving licence – HGV licence preferred but not essential
• Friendly, confident, and professional manner – excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure – both independently and as part of a team
