HGV Class 1 Driver – Plant Hire
Kemp Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a rapidly growing plant hire business based in Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for a permanent Monday-to-Friday position within the plant hire industry.
The role will involve the safe transportation and delivery of plant machinery and equipment to customer sites, ensuring all equipment arrives safely and on time while providing an excellent level of customer service.

The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:

Delivering and collecting plant machinery and equipment from customer sites
Safely operating Class 1 vehicles and associated equipment
Ensuring plant and equipment is transported safely and securely
Liaising with customers and site teams regarding deliveries and collections
Carrying out daily vehicle checks
Keeping your vehicle clean, safe and roadworthy
Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
Completing all required transport and delivery documentation
Maintaining accurate digital tachograph records
Working in accordance with Working Time Directive and transport legislation
Following all company health and safety procedures
Providing a professional service to customers at all times

HGV Class 1 Driver Requirements
The successful candidate will:

Hold a valid HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence
Hold a valid Driver CPC
Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card
Hold a CSCS Health & Safety Site Visitor Card
Have previous HGV driving experience
Have a strong understanding of transport regulations and vehicle safety
Be confident delivering to customer and construction sites
Have excellent communication and customer service skills
Be reliable, safety-conscious and professional

Previous experience within plant hire, construction equipment, heavy plant or machinery transportation would be highly advantageous.
