Mobile Forklift Engineer – Hertfordshire

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join a team servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of materials handling equipment, including forklifts, side loaders and reach trucks.

Location: Hertfordshire and surrounding areas 

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair materials handling equipment, including forklifts, side loaders and reach trucks.
• Diagnose faults and identify potential repairs to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
• Complete service records, job sheets, parts orders and warranty work accurately.
• Provide a professional and high-quality service to customers.
• Plan and book scheduled maintenance with customers.
• Prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
• Ensure chargeable work and scheduled servicing are completed within agreed timescales.
• Maintain regular communication with the service team regarding completed work, estimates, damage reports and outstanding jobs.
• Carry out lifting equipment inspections when required.
• Carry out PAT testing when required.
• Follow all site health and safety requirements and wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties required as part of the role.

Experience you will have: 

• Ideally, previous experience servicing, repairing or maintaining forklifts, plant machinery, MHE or similar equipment.
• Experience with materials handling equipment, construction or agricultural machinery, powered access equipment or similar would be advantageous.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• A good Light Vehicle Technician background will also be considered.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence

 Your Package: 

• Basic Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 dependent on experience
• overtime paid at 1.5x.
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
• weekend call-out rota (to be discussed at interview)
