Contract: Temporary
Hours: 45 hours per week
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team on a temporary basis. The role involves operating plant machinery, loading and unloading materials, moving stock around the yard and supporting the day-to-day running of the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate plant machinery and equipment as required.
• Load and unload materials and vehicles.
• Move, organise and store materials around the yard.
• Carry out daily checks on plant and report any defects or maintenance issues.
• Assist with deliveries and collections.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised yard.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Support colleagues with general yard and operational duties.
• Ensure plant and equipment is operated safely and correctly.
• Work efficiently as part of a team and independently when required.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by management.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a yard, construction or similar environment is desirable.
• Experience operating plant machinery is desirable.
• Relevant plant/operator qualifications or tickets where required.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
