Location: Basingstoke and the surrounding areas  
Salary: OTE £50,000 + Door to Door
Shift: 37 hour week
Overtime: Offered at 1.5x / 2x 
On Call Rota: 1/5 weeks + standby + call out bonus + overtime rates

My client, a leading national provider of Automatic & Industrial Door Systems, is looking to recruit an electrically skilled individual to join their field service team. You do not need previous experience working with automatic or industrial doors, as full training will be provided on the door systems themselves.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrician looking to transfer their existing electrical knowledge into a specialist field, with structured training, ongoing technical support and genuine long-term career progression.

We are particularly interested in candidates based around Oxford, High Wycombe, Reading, Salisbury, Brighton, Redhill and Guildford, as well as surrounding areas

As an Electrician progressing to Automatic and Industrial Door Engineer you will be responsible for
Repair, service & install a full range of industrial & commercial doors, gates, barriers and loading bay equipment on industrial, commercial, educational and residential properties
Preventative maintenance and emergency call-out cover
Small installations and component replacements
Ensuring accurate service reports and safe working procedures
 
The successful Electrician progressing to Automatic and Industrial Door Engineer will have the following experience
A background in electrical work, such as an Electrician, Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Technician.
Experience fault-finding on electrical systems, motors, control panels or similar equipment.
The ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
A practical, hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairs.
A willingness to learn new equipment and develop specialist engineering skills.
Good communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
The ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload.
A full UK driving licence.
Previous automatic or industrial door experience is not essential. Full training will be provided on the relevant door systems, making this a great opportunity for an Electrician looking to broaden their technical experience.
Relevant electrical qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent engineering qualification, would be advantageous.
 
The Electrician progressing to Automatic and Industrial Door Engineer will receive an excellent remuneration package which includes
Realistic OTE of approximately £50,000 per annum, including overtime and additional on-call earnings.
Door-to-door travel paid.
Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x.
37-hour standard working week.
1 in 5 on-call rota.
