Location: Oldham Area Hours: 40 hours per week (Day Shifts) Occasional Nights: 1 night per few months (Pre-planned) Salary: £13.50-£14 per hour

About the Opportunity

A well-established and specialist provider of lifting and plant equipment is seeking an experienced, motivated HGV Driver to join their team in the Oldham area. This is a chance to work for a company known for providing innovative solutions and a high level of service to clients across the UK.

The HGV Driver Role

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of specialist plant and lifting machinery (including Mini Cranes, Vacuum Lifters, and related equipment).

Your primary duties will include:

Operating an HGV (Class 1 or 2) vehicle for the transportation of plant and lifting equipment.
Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of equipment, including securing loads correctly.
Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and maintaining accurate delivery paperwork.
Conducting routine vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly.
Occasional overnight stays (approximately one per few months) to facilitate long-distance deliveries.
Adhering to all transport legislation, tachograph rules, and company health and safety procedures.
Providing excellent customer service during site deliveries and collections.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) driving licence.
A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.
Previous experience operating an HGV, ideally involving the transport of plant, machinery, or heavy equipment.
Experience with safe loading/unloading and securing various types of loads.
A professional, flexible, and safety-conscious approach to work.
