Construction Technician £16.00 – £17.00 per hour (DOE)
Full-Time | Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Construction Technician to join a well-established and expanding team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong machinery knowledge who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working within a supportive workshop environment.

The Role As a Construction Technician, you will carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of construction machinery. You’ll be working on equipment used across the construction and civil engineering sectors, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and prepared to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Service, diagnose and repair construction machinery and equipment
Conduct routine maintenance and fault-finding procedures
Prepare machines for hire, sale, and customer use
Complete inspection sheets, job cards, and service reports accurately
Work both independently and as part of a skilled team
Provide occasional support with customer enquiries and machine demonstrations

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with construction or plant machinery
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Construction Equipment Maintenance, or related field (Level 3 advantageous)
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: Hitachi, JCB, SANY, other construction plant machinery (e.g. dumpers, rollers, loaders, telehandlers)Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills)
Ability to work under pressure during busy periods
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Full UK driving licence
