HGV Technician – Dumfries

Pay: £17.60 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, Rotating Shifts (06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Earning Potential
Basic Salary: £36,608 per year (based on 40-hour week)
OTE with Overtime: Up to £42,000+ per year

Overview
We’re looking for a qualified HGV Technician to join a successful, expanding dealership in Dumfries. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to be part of a growing team, provide a high-quality heavy vehicle service, and work in a busy, professional workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Technician, you will undertake all levels of maintenance, repairs, and major overhauls on HGVs and trailers.
Complete standard servicing, diagnostics, and fault analysis from start to finish as a professional HGV Technician.
Conduct routine inspections and pre-MOT checks, ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including worksheets, and uphold high standards of workshop organisation and safety.

What You’ll Need

Apprentice-trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
Recent experience working as an HGV Technician in a dealership or fleet workshop.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Outstanding organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
Full UK driving licence.

What’s On Offer

£17.60 per hour for a qualified HGV Technician
OTE up to £42,000+ per year with available overtime
Monday – Friday rotating shifts (early/late) – no weekend work
