HGV Technician
Skelmersdale
£46K + annual bonus (circa £3,000)
Shifts: Week 1 Mon 06:00-17:30, Tue – Fri 06:00 – 15:30
Week 2 Mon 06:00-17:30, Tue – Fri – 08:30 – 18:00

The Role as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-established and respected fleet maintenance company. You’ll be working on specialist assets within a professional workshop environment, with full support and training provided to help you develop your skills further.
- Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of HGVs to include refuse collection vehicles for both internal and external customers
- Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT, including inspection, rectification, and final presentation
- Attending breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs to a high standard
- Completing all compliance documentation in line with DVSA and company standards
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and workmanship at all times
What we’re looking for in the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer
- NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent HGV qualification
- Experience with repairs and wheel alignment
- Municipal or RCV/refuse vehicle experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong understanding of the HGV industry and safety practices
- A team player who can also work confidently on their own initiative
- HGV Class 2 licence preferred
