Ready to step up and run a busy workshop? We’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Controller with strong technical ability and natural leadership to take charge of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced municipal fleet environment.

The successful Workshop Controller will require
- Lead from the front as the senior technician while controlling daily workshop activity
- Plan workloads, schedule servicing and MOTs, and keep vehicles on the road
- Diagnose, maintain and repair a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles
- Control job cards, paperwork, parts ordering and stock levels
- Provide technical support to the team and maintain high quality standards
- Liaise confidently with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders
- Manage rotas, holidays and standby cover to ensure full workshop coverage
The successful Workshop Controller will receive
- Proven experience in an HGV or municipal workshop environment
- Strong people management and organisational skills
- Confident with diagnostics, fleet maintenance and compliance
- Comfortable using vehicle management systems and completing accurate paperwork
- HGV Category C licence preferred
- Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent in automotive engineering (CPC an advantage)
