Hours: 4 on / 4 off, 06:00 – 18:00

Overview
We’re recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join a busy HGV workshop in Preston on a permanent basis, working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern. You’ll supervise and work alongside a team of technicians and apprentices, ensuring job cards are processed in a timely manner and work is completed to required standards. This is a key role acting as the main link between managers and the wider team, as well as a point of contact for customers where required. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and work as part of the technician and apprentice team
• Ensure job cards are processed in a timely manner
• Oversee that all processes are followed correctly
• Ensure all health and safety rules are adhered to
• Act as main link between managers and workshop team
• Be a key point of contact for customers when required
• Assist with planning and relevant training/development for workshop staff
• Ensure good communication and information flow between front desk and service staff

What You’ll Need

• Recognised Level 3 qualification in HGV Maintenance and Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI)
• Experience working in the transport industry within a service workshop environment
• Ability to manage teams on shift to ensure smooth running of the branch
• Supervisory or management experience
• Clean HGV/LGV licence is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
