HGV Technician – Days (Liverpool)
Salary: £45,634 per annum
Hours: 4 on / 4 off, 06:00 – 18:00 (days)
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Basic Salary: £45,634 per year
- Realistic OTE: £53,000+ with Overtime paid at 1.5x rate
Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and professional HGV Technician to join the aftermarket department at our Liverpool site. This role offers a 4 on / 4 off day shift pattern (6am–6pm), providing an excellent work-life balance while you undertake maintenance and repair activities on a variety of commercial vehicles and trailers in a supportive workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers of all types
- Diagnose faults, carry out tests on vehicles, and effect permanent and complete repairs
- Complete paperwork and procedures relating to warranty, contract, and retail work
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise unnecessary customer costs
- Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager
What You’ll Need
- Recognised City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles
- Organised and methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
- Undertaken manufacturer training courses and maintained knowledge of work methods
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)
- Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
