HGV Technician – Nights (Liverpool)
Pay: £25.21 per hour (including shift premium)
Salary: £50,905 per year
Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 20:30 – 07:00 (night shift)
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Hourly Rate: £25.21 per hour
- Basic Salary: £50,905 per year
- With 3 hours overtime per week: + £5,899 per year
- Realistic OTE: £56,804+ per year
Overview
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for motivated and professional HGV Technicians to join the service department at our Liverpool site. This role offers a Tuesday to Friday night shift pattern (8:30pm–7am), providing a condensed working week with excellent work-life balance. You’ll undertake maintenance and repair activities on a variety of commercial vehicles and trailers in a supportive workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers of all types
- Diagnose faults, carry out tests on vehicles, and effect permanent and complete repairs
- Complete paperwork and procedures relating to warranty, contract, and retail work
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise unnecessary customer costs
- Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager
What You’ll Need
- Recognised City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles
- Organised and methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
- Undertaken manufacturer training courses and maintained knowledge of work methods
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)
- Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
