Advanced HGV Technician – Tamworth

Pay: £19.50 – £24.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Rotating shifts – 45 hours per week, 30-minute unpaid lunch

• Week 1: 06:00 – 15:30
• Week 2: 09:00 – 18:30
• Saturdays worked on a rotational basis (every other weekend when on lates)
  Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

• Hourly Rate: £19.50 – £24.00 per hour
• Call-out Rota: Additional earnings available for roadside assistance
• Realistic OTE: £60,000 – £75,000+ per year

Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Advanced HGV Technician to join our busy and growing team at our Tamworth site. If you’re passionate about keeping heavy vehicles running safely and efficiently, and want to work with a supportive team in a modern workshop environment, we want to hear from you. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heavy goods vehicles, including advanced diagnostics and roadside assistance when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on HGVs
• Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Repair and replace vehicle components as required
• Complete all work in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Accurately complete job cards and service records
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Participate in call-out rota for roadside assistance

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician with strong diagnostic skills
• Relevant qualifications in heavy vehicle maintenance – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic
