Telematics Technician Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Telematics Technician to join a growing technical operations team, working on the installation, support, and integration of telematics systems across a wide range of vehicles and ground support equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, travel and working with the latest technology in the commercial vehicle / equipment sector. This role is based at Manchester airport with regular travel across the UK, Europe and occasionally worldwide.
Telematics Technician duties
- Installing telematics trackers and related hardware on a variety of vehicles and equipment
- Supporting installation projects across multiple UK and European locations
- Assisting with telematics integration at OEM / factory level
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and telematics faults
- Providing technical support to engineers and local teams
- Delivering training on installation procedures and best practice
- Producing installation guides, checklists, and technical documentation
- Supporting workshop, field, and project-based technical work when required
- Working closely with engineering, operations, and equipment manufacturers
Telematics Technician experience required
- Experience installing telematics, tracking, or vehicle electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrics, wiring, and diagnostics
- Background in commercial vehicles, plant, fleet, or specialist equipment preferred
- Ability to work independently in field-based environments
- Experience training or supporting other engineers desirable
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel regularly across the UK & Europe
