HGV Technician – Stoke

Pay: £19.00 – £21.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Rotating shifts – 40 hours per week

• Week 1: 06:00 – 14:30
• Week 2: 13:30 – 22:00
  Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

• Hourly Rate: £19.00 – £21.00 per hour
• Basic Salary: £39,520 – £43,680 per year (based on 40-hour week)
• Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x)
• With 3 hours overtime per week: + £4,446 – £4,914 per year
• Realistic OTE: £44,000 – £48,600+ per year

Overview
We’re looking for a qualified HGV Technician to join a busy dealership in Stoke, assisting in providing a high-quality and efficient heavy vehicle service offering to customers. Our hugely successful client is expanding after a number of new contract wins, offering a great opportunity for a skilled technician to join a growing team in a modern workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake all levels of maintenance, repairs, and major overhauls on HGVs and trailers
• Complete standard servicing and diagnostics
• Follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion
• Diagnose vehicle defects accurately and efficiently
• Conduct routine inspections and Pre-MOT inspections as necessary
• Comprehensively complete all documentation including worksheets

What You’ll Need

• Recent experience working in an HGV Dealership or Fleet workshop
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
• Outstanding organisation and time management skills with ability to work to deadlines
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable)
