Welder – Trafford Park, Manchester
Pay: Up to £17.90 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40-45 hours per week. Overtime available.
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Hourly Rate: Up to £17.90 per hour
- Basic Salary: Up to £41,886 per year (based on 45-hour week)
- Overtime Rate: Paid at enhanced rates (details to be confirmed at interview)
- Realistic OTE: Details of additional earnings to be discussed
Overview
We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Welder to join our team in Trafford Park. You’ll be welding products from various materials including alloy, mild steel, and stainless steel as part of vehicle assembly. With welds on display, an eye for detail is essential to ensure a bespoke, professional finish. You’ll work in a well-established manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality, safety, and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Weld mild steel, stainless steel, and alloys using both MIG and TIG processes
- Measure, cut, and finish welded works to high standards
- Maintain own tooling and workstations
- Ensure workstation is kept clean, tidy, and free from fire risks
- Train other team members when applicable
- Use hand tools such as grinders, circular saws, band saws, and other relevant tools
- Work independently and on own initiative to meet timelines and standards
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all work areas
- Comply with company H&S, maintenance procedures, and quality control
What You’ll Need
- MIG & TIG welding experience is essential
- Welding experience across alloy, mild steel, and stainless steel
- Coded Welder status is preferred
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- An excellent understanding of the manufacturing process
- Your own tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
